Your paws crunch the snow under them as you walk the snowy roads to the kingdom. You've heard the kingdom was always covered in tall snow, always stuck in a frozen state. Those words proved true, simply because the chill that stole your body heat and the constant work of plowing snows from the main roads bothered you greatly. How could someone live in such a place?
The castle rears into view, and you stop and stare for a few moments, soaking it all in. This is the palace in where the Tyrantess lived. You've heard she was really nice or really vicious and prideful. Whatever it is, you didn't really care. All you wanted to do was visit the palace and get out of the freezing air. Climbing up the hill, you begin to hear the wind whistling and the panicked sounds of people. You run towards the castle, and see the guards beginning to retreat inside the castle.
"You! Get inside! Didn't you hear the wind howling!? It clearly spells a blizzard coming!" A guard notices you and shouts. You run alongside a few guards, beginning to hear the trees whipping around and breaking off as if it were just a small stick to the wind. The kingdom main hall was large and adorned with valuables perched on small tables as well as a furry carpet. You look up, seeing paintings and golden carvings on the roof.
"Best stop looking up and daydreaming and focusing on getting inside without being trampled!" A guard calls to you, and you snap from your trance. He was right! Focus!
"It seems as if the Archmage was correct in her weather forecasting.." A guard mutters to no one in particular. Soon, the run slows to a walk as the hallway opens into the throne room, and the guards discuss this 'archmage' and 'weather forecast'.
"Captain, status report. What's happening out there and what are the state of the villages?" A voice speaks up briskly, silencing the brigade of guards.
"Your Majesty, the villages are currently on lockdown and everyone is safe and prepared, all thanks to the Archmage's forewarning. The blizzard is extreme, and we might have to stay in the palace for a week or so. We have enough provisions and freshwater, enough to bath once each day and still have water to drink. Of course, we can also use our finest wine and ales as refreshments as well," a large honey-colored tom replies confidently.
"..Hmm, good. Every guard in this room is dismissed. Make sure all windows are firmly sealed and doors locked tight. I will personally thank the Archmage tonight," The voice decides aloud. Her guards slowly filter out of the room, and you stood alone in front of the Tyrantess.
"A stowaway, hmm?" She mused. "I suppose you can stay. I can't send away citizens into that blizzard, anyways."
Deciding to speak, you say, "A blizzard, huh? I wonder how you could stay so calm, despite the warnings your Archmage gave you."
The ruler laughs, closing her blue and red eyes temporarily. "Blizzards are quite normal and part of our schedule. However, I do have to admit, this one sounds worse than usual."
You lurch in surprise. "Part of your schedule?"
"A normal snow day here is considered warm and wonderful. You'd be surprised how we've grown to adapt these conditions," the Queen chuckles. "Of course, I don't think you're a citizen seeing how shocked you are, so please tell me your name and your business here? You can even stay and live with us, and despite these cold temperatures, everyone in the land is warm, welcoming and friendly."
"So, will you join us?"
