The Selaphim Kingdom

The Selaphim Kingdom is one that is not very well known, but to those who have heard of it, they know that it is a very welcoming place and has a very kind population. This Kingdom is located in a forest, large enough to accommodate the Kingdom's territory but still small enough so that the Kingdom, being as small as it is, fits quite nicely. They're not all that into keeping slaves, yet if needed subjects will be punished for treason against the Queen or any of the royals. Even if the Kingdom is a generally peaceful and kind one, they are undoubtedly strong, and in the few battles they've been in they've never lost.

The Kingdom was once ruled by a noble and wise King, one who led his subjects well and kept the Kingdom thriving. He had a daughter who's mother died while giving birth, and he raised her to be the strong and kind Queen that he knew she would be. His love and devotion to his daughter didn't stop his devotion to his Kingdom however, and when the time came for battle, he was eager to join in to defend his land. He died giving his life to the kingdom, and a deep sadness ran over the population for a while until Queen Baselix finally stepped up to the throne.

For a while, the Kingdom was ruled under the same kind and strong hand as the King had had, until several assassination attempts were made on the Queens life. There was an uproar in the Kingdom, and the first execution was made in the history of the Selaphim Kingdom. After that, security on the royals was heightened and around the Kingdom, but overall they were still the peaceful group that they always had been. The Queen has developed extreme paranoia and anxiety after the assassination attempts, though it hasn't quite affected the Kingdom as a whole.

On another note, the Kingdom makes it's profit off of selling healing herbs and potions and using magic to help people, which surprisingly brings in quite a bit of currency. Food and weapons and other such as that is also sold, but the main source of income are the potions and herbs and such.

Queen Baselix was currently in her castle, unknowing of The Marquis being in the Kingdom and what his goals were. The castle wasn't all that big, as far as castles go, but it was heavily guarded, with two large dogs standing right at the front entrance. All orders of the Queen after the assasination attempts, although one would be allowed in with good reason.

One of the large dogs stepped forward, dressed nicely although not without weapons. "Who are you, and why have you come to the Queen's castle?", he asked, ears twitched as he looked at this new comer. He didn't look like any of the people the guard had seen before, so he must have come from outside the kingdom.

The dog followed however, planning to accompany the other to the Queen's room.

It didn't take long after they had entered the castle for them to reach the Queen's room. Once there, the guard knocked politely before opening the door, revealing Queen Baselix in all her messy furred, paranoid glory. She turned her gaze to the door and blinked her blueish grey eyes, forcing a smile and getting to her paws. "Welcome, please come in.", she said.
